El Presidente Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Whatever light my mate is carrying. If I lose one more lighter I will do something extreme
dysfunctional Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 » What method do you use to light your cigar? Mine is a blazer gb3001 » torch... for me its a torch.... sometimes when I wanna be a little fancy a cedar spill.... but when I am outdoors.... just a cheap lighter and lots of sucking to get the cigar going....whilst rotating...:-D
strayvector Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I normally use a cheap 99 cent Bic lighter. I travel quite a bit for work and don't usually check my bags, so its a bit difficult to travel with a lighter. When I get to my destination, I'll stop at a local convenience store and pick up a cheap lighter to use. I started doing this after the heightened security here in the US and have grown used to the process...plus I've lost too many expensive lighters to count.
JMH Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 » Whatever light my mate is carrying. » » If I lose one more lighter I will do something extreme You're not losing them, ken is stealing and selling them to fund the cigars he buys from you ;-)
Curmudgeon Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I like a soft flame if it's not windy; otherwise, a torch. I've recently acquired my first and last (I hope!) fancy lighters: a silver Dupont Ligne 2 and Porsche PD3. I really like using them both.
Wiley Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I spent a lot of money on a nice torch, only to find they're a stinky pain in the ass, and I went back to matches.
cf2112 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 » Dupont X-Tend mainly with cedar matches on occasion. Yup me too
ironman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Just picked up a soft flame and love it!!! Ironman
Loki Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Torch just to get the cedar spill lit then smokey smokey.
harwellplant Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 i prefer a torch or spill, but i really use whatever i can find or is handy. except for zippos. those things stink.
HawaiiBill Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Aloha TR, I just wanted to let you that I checked a few stores, but was NOT able to find those matchs you were looking for. But I will keep an eye out and if I ever run across them will certainly let you know. Take care......bill
Elric Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 » My pet dragon is always near... :-| :-D :-D Torch for me if there is not a match around. Never a zippo or bic lighter.
swl Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 DuPonts for indoor and Blazer Torch for outdoors. It's hard to find a good and long sulfur free match here.

waldo Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Cheap torch or wooden matches here. I'll never waste my money on an expensive lighter again.:-|
DocRKS Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I'll use anything that can double as a welding tool !!! Some of these new butane lighters (torches) are killers on those of us who still sport a full beard and moustache. ;-)
