I voted for the PL.

I have some Lonsdales I haven't tried yet, but the word I'm gettting is that they're fantastic. I think the "commissioned" PLs would also be legendary.

i had to vote for the SP robusto even though it's way behind in the polls. i had a feelin' the PL would be near the top............and it is. i just voted and it's .8 of a vote behind 1st place, which is the RA piramide.

come on folks and get that PL to 1st!!

Can't get the poll to pop. (yes, firewall is off; pop-up blocker off)

Anyway, I'd go for either the PL #3 or the RA Piramide.

Being a moderate smoker, however, a cab of 50 would be over-kill for me. A box of 25 or even 10 would suite me just fine. But I'm sure there are cost-of-goods issues that come into play here.

Regardless of whatever way it goes, the idea is exciting and I'm looking forward to the results. Will there be a launch party?

Hey Prez what about a PL Super Corona ?

I think that would be a hit!!

Well hell, Tampa. Way to make us think about what was otherwise a gut call from the heart. :-P But you got the ball rolling so let's see where it goes.

I think that if I were to hop on the PL/thin bandwagon, I'd prefer going directly to the 7.25 x 36 delicados extra vitola rather than stopping at the 5.675 x 35 carlotas vitola. While the PSDC3 certainly is a great cigar in a delightful format, the additional length of the delicados extra makes for a more elegant presentation and one, I feel, makes more of a statement. Of course I realize it's not an option but IMO, the carlotas is too close to the existing PL vitolas (Montecarlos/deliciosos 6.25 x 35 and Panetelas/vegueritos 5 x 36). In fact, it slots in rather neatly right between the two. If this special cigar is to maximize the press and exposure for the Heritage program, I think it would more effectively do so by stepping outside of the existing PL length-ring space. Extrapolate instead of interpolate as it were.

Now, as for the RA Belicosos, I think the price and limited distribution of this cigar has kept it out of the humidors of sufficient smokers to render it a novelty or non-issue. Sure, some people have this cigar but for the price, I'd rather have an RA Estupendos. And that's where I was going with this. If we could get a variant of the RAE profile in either the delicados extra or pirámides vitola, I'd be happy. The delicados extra providing a more concentrated dose of the profile in an elegant size. The pirámides providing a unique figurado in the PL line.

Oh,

Just wanted to add that if you have the option on packaging, go for the BN-brooch style that is used on the LGC MdO 1-4 cigars. It would be distinctive enough to provide a touch of class without spending excessively on fancy shmancy lacquered this and velvet lined that. A 25-ct SLB would also do the job but is just a notch more workmanly.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say us, but I'm pretty sure I used a

To be quite honest, for lack of a better way to put it, the piramide has been done,

done, and done again. Also, there has been RA belicoso, RA Estupendo, RA this,

and RA that - I'd personally rather see something a bit different.

RA is done already next!!

Lets do the perfect size 46 X 5 /5/8 it will be a classic the PL.

Why I mean the "royal" we, of course. ;-) Simply, me and anyone else who might have made the call based on incorporated experience. Experience is often written on the human heart. Perhaps this is one meaning of the phrase "take it to heart."

Well said. If only we were all as self-assured. I know I'm not. Still, I assumed that since Rob posted this poll, he might be interested in our opinions and analysis, not just our votes. And Rob and Czar most definitely have a mission.

No, that's an excellent way to put it. The Partagás Pirámides EL00, Cohiba Pirámides EL01/06, and JL Obus might be enough of this format for many folks. For fans of RA (or Montecristo, or Bolivar, etc.), though, you just can't have enough of a good thing.

Thanks for the counterpoint, Colt.

I could not get the poller to work. PL or RA are the only two to consider.
