Ken, generally speaking, I think the Aussie market (not just FOH forum) is already occupied with the high volume stakes of Barcardi and Havana Club. I have recently seen Appleton and a few others get some shelf space, but think most Aussies would not stray too far from what they know.

The situation amongst Rum fanatics and FOH forum members may be different.

I'm in the USA, but that Bundaberg stuff you blokes drink over there is definitely an acquired taste! I was there for a month, so I finally got there, although I never was able to drink it neat, had to mix it with Coke.

Cuban rums are a great companion to their cousin, the Cuban cigar.

My favorite is the Caney Oro Ligero, but Santiago and Cubay also rate high with me.

when i was over there i had trouble finding cuban rum in bars and bottle shops. i did finally find a bottle of HC anejo especial in sydney near my hotel (but didn't buy it) and then in canberra i did buy a bottle of HC7. i also found it odd that every bottle shop i went to didn't know what HC was when i asked for it.

as for bundy, i didn't care for it either. found it interesting that bundy is also pre mixed with soda and put into a keg format as well and severed on tap cold.

guys, it would be only small numbers obviously but there is a possibility that we might be able to get some though it will take a while. keep you posted if anything happening. skindiver, bundy (bar the 18year-old) is not for drinking straight. some would say not for drinking at all but if suitably mixed, can be drunk in huge quantities, whereupon god will punish you with a monumental hangover.

thats all we need, more rum in australia.. giving more alcohol to them encourages acts of violence after they lose certain rugby matches and sort of never recover... I guess theres no beating the best, your pal from New Zealand
