El Presidente Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Who is our forums biggers work bludger? By bludger I mean the member who takes to work like a pom takes to soap? The reason I ask is that I received last week an e-mail from Ken of which contained the following opening. hi all, happy new year. apols to those who have confirmed or declined but you are on one giant list of addresses. I am likely to be out of contact from jan 22 for about two months so won't get anything done during that time. Can anyone beat that? Nothing like starting the year with a two month holiday:-D
Colt45 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 certain aspects of my new year's resolutions won't allow me to disparage ken. so, have a nice trip, ken. I hope you do not get bludgeoned at work.

greenpimp Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Doing nothing can be extremely exhausting. Perhaps he's going on a work vacation. :-P
Ken Gargett Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 what do you call rob in a suit? the defendant. seriously, you could not lie straight in bed. peter foster took lessons from you. you know full well just how badly you have twisted that email. just the facts, ma'am. 1 - the email refers to organising two fishing trips (and believe me, that is a job like herding cats) for later in the year. rob (at least prior to this last posting) may have been on one or both. 2 - half that time away is actually WITH YOU!! this would be the annual cuba visit, which i volunteered to stay on longer to get some work done (for a forthcoming guide, with some luck). rob, will you be staying on to do some work? no, have to get back for a party. 3 - the first part is two work trips, which incorporate four conferences, a number of tastings, many vineyard visits (and over four weeks, i do have the gall to take two days off to go fishing in northern nz). 4 - did i mention that call a week or two ago? look after the forum, mate, i'm off to the beach to lie on my back. perhaps it was being deluged by the thanks that made me forget it. yes, what thanks? you have been warned not to poke bears with sharp sticks before lunch but you persist!
Ken Gargett Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 and did i point out that, for all the running around, covering rob's arse, reviews, crap etc, i receive not one red cent (and have never asked for one). not even a cigar, not even a plugged one.... do i get a discount? as an example, i noticed the other day (otherwise it would have slipped through to the rob's kids schoolfund) that not only did i not get a discount for my endless thankless work, i bought a cab of mag 46's and paid 20% more than he was charging the rest of you. and have i told anyone about you sneaking off to the *** bathhouse at lunch? no, but do i get thanks....
El Presidente Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 That is what I like about Ken........you can't get him to take a bait
Colt45 Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 When Rob and Ken have at it, I just can't but help be reminded of Robin Williams and Nathan Lane ...........in the birdcage...........
Ken Gargett Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 » When Rob and Ken have at it, I just can't but help be reminded of Robin » Williams » and Nathan Lane ...........in the birdcage........... rob might just be a bit offended at being compared with nathan lane.
greenpimp Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Ken your toils of wine tasting and cigar reviews and fishing trips and Cuba visits sounds exhausting. I'm sorry I poked fun. You truly deserve a BREAK. :-D
greenpimp Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Although Rob should really not be the one to bring this up. Quite the pot and kettle arguing here eh? LOL. Ma Pot and Pa Kettle.
skid11 Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 the first part is two work trips, which incorporate four conferences, a number of tastings, many vineyard visits :-| :-| :-| It's tough at the top Ken................................
