shrink Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 » Thinking only recent production, what's the most complex smoke you've had? Recent production? Not sure if you mean '06, or last few years? '06 only: RASS Rafael Gonzalez Lonsdale (OK, it's really DIC05) Otherwise: Partagas Serie du Connnaisseur No. 1 '03 Partagas EL Serie D No. 1 '04 Hoyo Piramide EL '03 Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1 '03 Ramon Allones 898V '02
FreeStream Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 Recent production, as in easily attainable at the moment.. That's some list!:-) I love everything on it except the Hoyo LE, which I haven't tried.. How does it compare to other Hoyos?

How does it compare to other Hoyos? It is phenominal. Not your flavor profile of the range, but fits the "EL" catagory of flavor. Had an 1 RJY Robusto EL this morning and it was the most flavorful cigar I have had all year
cigardawg Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 » Thinking only recent production, what's the most complex smoke you've had? » Partagas Serie du Connoissuer No. 1 Montecristo Especial No. 1 and 2 Punch Corona (at least from 98...incredibly complex) Cigars no longer made or not easily found (some more than others): Partagas Seleccion Privada No. 1 Ramon Allones 898V Punch Super Selection No. 2 These are probably tops for me. There are others that I am forgetting right now, but this is a good summary.
KB24 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 » Montecristo Especial No. 1 and 2 I have a box of MC Especial 2's from 2004 and have smoked 2 now. I am not a seasoned vet like some of you guys but from those I get the incredible Monte flavor profile with an abundence of creamy rich smoke. I can taste the coffee and caramel notes throughout with a hint of spice maybe cinnnamon in the middle 3rd. Probably the best cigar I have in my collection.
El Presidente Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 » Thinking only recent production, what's the most complex smoke you've had? » » » Fundis and CoRo are tops for me.. The hard part about this question is that it dows not take into account blend inconsistency during 06 ie I have had some very fine cigars from 2006 (say FEB Siglo II) and then have been let down by an April batch...only to find another April batch to be superb. Makes it all a little difficult but I will give you my list based on the most Memorable cigars of 2006 which have made me stop, prop, look down from what I was doing and record my thoughts. Cohiba Robusto (April 06) Cohiba Siglo II (Feb 06) Montecristo No 2 (Feb 06) Montecristo No 4 (April 06) Partagas Serie De Connoisseur No 3 (April 06) Juan Lopez Seleccion No 2 (Feb 06) Diplomatico No 1 (can't recall which month).
