Is any one else as pissed off as I am about the Toxic labels on cigar boxes?

I understand its part of the Tobacco Nazi PC horseshit, but I hate, hate, having my nicely lacquered cedar boxes plastered with images of gasping kids. Save that for the toothless chain smoking trailer trash mom with six kids crawling around the back seat as she heads to 7-11 for another pack of Jacks and a half dozen slurpees.

I’m willing to give my left testes that no one in here (FOH) smokes with their kid under a dry cleaners bag.

If they want to talk about toxic, let ‘em talk about TSS(Toxic Shock Syndrome); if a woman can’t figure out when it’s time to pull the plug, that, THAT is much more scary then a gentleman enjoying a premium tobacco product.

OK, I’m done. Rack me.

In the last few months here in oz, the govt have started a big anti-smoking campaign. Pictures of gangrenous limbs plastered on buses, tv ads featuring people horribly scarred by cancer. It's pretty rough considering they're showing these to little kids.

Yeah, it sucks! You're correct!

Not much I can do but gripe, so I will!

I don't like them!!!!!

But, on the up side, I can't smoke a box anyway! :-D

Three minutes is all it takes ;-)

Unfortunately it cannot be helped. PCC HK applies all health labels in HK for each of the countries in its region before the box is shipped to it's country distributors. In the Asia Pacific, 15 countries now have picture health warnings. This will move to 22 countries next year. I understand Europe commences January 2007.

» maybe that's what they mean by "cooked tobacco"

No, thats the "toasted" flavour you get in cigars! :-D

I'm from Europe and we only get the "smoking kills" or "smoking damages your health" etc. stickers in black bold face letter on white background. What do you mean?

I tried that on a box I had, I am just worried about damaging the cigars inside?

I maybe didn't heat it for long enough, I got the label off, but it left some crappy sticky shitty residue on it, if you heat it long enough does EVERYTHING come off? Including that reside? And are the cigars safe to be in the box when heating it like that?

Nice info but I haven't had a hair dryer for 180,000 folicles.

Know I will get some wierd looks but maybe it would be a good purchase.

Uh...yeah, I'd take the cigars out first! Actually, I did mine before I put the cigars in it! And as far the sticky residue that's left, I took a small amount of rubbing alcohol and gently buffed it off. It didn't appear to leave any after-smell either. ;-)

» Nothing like displaying a nice box in your humidor at home and you have friends come over, take a look inside, and the say, "what's with the dying kids on the box covering the Cuban artwork?"

Yep, works like a charm. I initially tried an iron and then pulled out my heat gun. Of course now when I reach into the humidor and grab a box I end up pulling four or five others with it (as they all stick together from the adhesive) but at least I don't have to see a bunch of BS propaganda...

I'll have to try the rubbing alcohol trick to remove the adhesive.

My oldest daughter got Toxi Shock two years ago at age 14:-( , She did NOTHING wrong, The Doctors said it just hits some and Not others and she could have died.

IV's total of eight at once, heart rate low, pulse rate low, 3 night's in P.I.C.U. Being cut so they could put a central line in her leg and given suitchers witout any Novocaine, because She could go out completely:-(

Great Medical work saved her...:-)

Women Don't CHOOSE to get Sick and/or die from TSS we do choose to smoke ...Yea I hate the stickers too

ok I'm done.
