VigorishSLC Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I love this size, so the question is: What's your hands-down favorite? Thanks!
El Presidente Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 » I love this size, so the question is: » » What's your hands-down favorite? » » Thanks! For a light cigar format the Sancho Panza Molinos Medium - Full bodied, Partagas Lonsdale.
shrink Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 What's my hands-down favorite? For a light cigar format the Diplomaticos No. 1 Medium - Full bodied, Partagas Lonsdale.
VigorishSLC Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 » What's my hands-down favorite? » » For a light cigar format the Diplomaticos No. 1 » Medium - Full bodied, Partagas Lonsdale. Oh, man. I forgot about the Dip 1's.
josie67 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Rafael Gonzalez Lonsdale and Ramon Allones 898v (close enough to a lonsdale :-D ).
Professor Twain Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Monte #1, but I have not really sampled the full range in this size.
bassman Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Cabinet Partagas Lonsdale 1992 SLR Lonsdale (bought a boatload of these!)
cigardawg Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I'd have to go with the Partagas Lonsdale (dress box). Have sampled cigars from both 01 and 02...fantastic and no draw problems. After that, probably the ERDM Lonsdale from 98. Great flavors, but construction sucks.
Mel Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Bolivar Lonsdale followed closely by the Siglo III
1f1fan Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 02 Partagas Lonsdale cab -- by far my favorite 99 Upmann Lonsdales - a close second 03 Monte #1 - good go-to lonsdale Can't forget the new PL Lonsdale regional release...great cigar to smoke now and age another box a few years or so.
habanohal Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 #1 01 H. Upmann Lonsdales #2 Vegas Robina Classico # 3 Monty #1
Guest sb1396 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 » I love this size, so the question is: » » What's your hands-down favorite? » » Thanks! Would have to be the Party Lonsdale but only from a cab. Although I have never tried an aged Por Larranaga Lonsdale. I've stocked up on the current release and I'm hoping to say that it will be my favorite in a few years.
Jimmy2 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 sb1396 if you tried an aged or Por Larranaga Lonsdale your a lucky man. All in all they only made about 50 boxes ever and that was in 1996 and imported to Hong Kong only. These new releases are going to be a big hit i think so buy them if you can. I will be getting about 4 more boxes. I smoked one last night at Havana Dreams and it was young but you can tell it will be a tasty little number down the road with some age. Like Tampa say thin is in...

Thanks Jimmy, I had the chance to buy some Original release PLL's last year with impeccable provenance but the price was simply too high. The new releases are obviously young but I think they have great aging potential. Obviously time will tell. Overall, I love the PL flavor profile. I smoke young PLPC's like a kid eats candy.
Jimmy2 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Me too on the PLPC i love them waiting for Rob to get more running low here to..
56Tweed Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The best I ever smoked was some '97 SLR Lonsdale that was just ON. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find another like it, even others from '97 and older. My goto Lonsdale is probably the Bolivar but only because I have more than I do Partagas. Mike
Shooter Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Another vote for the Partagas Lonsdale (cabinet). These are just incredible cigars. Second favorite would have to be the RA 898 (close enough). Also taste treats beyond belief.

Totally agree with the ERDM from 98, one of my go to favorites.
