Hoops Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 As boss hogg points out, the hardline conservatives don't like McCain (too much of a loose cannon and actually thinks for himself), so getting the Republican nomination would be tough. Probably get my vote though... -BB

They have showed us their true colors, since they control 2 of the 3 branches of government. They are borrow and spend liberals. McCain being a true fiscal conservative, would not stand a chance. The republicans don't want smaller government, they want the same cash cow the Dems had, but they want to put off paying for it, until the Dems are back in power, so they can blame them for raising taxes. I wish they would quit being so socially conservative, and get back to the fiscal conservative policies that got them elected in the first place. They have failed to fulfill their contract with america. I have consistantly voted republican for years. But will not be voting for a republican again, unless they promise to cut spending to pay for the taxcuts. I am tired of them putting us deeper and deeper in debt, while spending money like drunken sailors on shore leave. No offnece to drunken sailors. You guys deserve the down time.:-) Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew)

stevejb Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 » JEB BUSH!!!! Lord help us. If we allow ourselves to get screwed over by this family 3 times, we deserve it. I'm hoping it's someone who doesn't cater to the "moral police" like this administration has. Romney would get support from some Western states due to his Mormon background. Rob get a trillion to 1 odds and put $1 on Al Sharpton.

McCain has more experience? Than a man who has been President for 6 years? More of a straight shooter? I completely disagree (but withhold my opinion re: IQ :-) ).
sloth Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I dunno who it will be... but it will be one of two people: **** Sandwich or Giant ******
Taino Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 ...don't know but I would just love to see Arnold... something like that can happen only in the US
effinwill Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 www.sportsbook.com has updated odds on the election. Arnold, Bill Clinton and the current Pres (all of whom are disqualified by the Constitution) are all very long odds. The favorite is, and has been since the opening line, Hillary Clinton at 3-1. The oddsmakers seem assured that she will win the primary and with Bill flying as a prominent co-pilot, she'll get the nod. McCain opened at 8-1 and has dropped to 6-1. Rudy went from 8-1 to 12-1 currently. George Allen, Jr. has dropped from 20-1 or so down to 6-1. He looks and sounds very "Presidential". Modern voters like that - making their selections based on what they see on TV.... :-(
sloth Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 When it come to Hillary Clinton, I'll believe it when I see it and right now I just can't imagine it.
Professor Twain Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 It's easy to see Hillary winning the Democratic primary--it's very difficult to see her winning the general election unless her Republican opponent pulls a Gerald Ford move.
