Mark Warner and John Edwards are the top two Democratic candidates in my view, and a strong Democrat should be able to win this election given the strong anti-Bush and anti-Iraq war sentiment in the US. Edwards is more likely to win because he has greater national visibility but he may choose not to run due to illness in his wife.

Giuliani will have difficulty winning the Republican primary due to his moderate stand on social issues and his nasty history of marital indiscretion.

????????????????

While there are plenty of people who probably feel this way, I don't know that

I'd paint the majority of the country as sharing that view.

» We need someone a little crazy to deal with the muslims. I think McCain

» fits that bill. I wanted him in 2000, but shrub played dirty.

I think there's a real vacuum right now, but Hillary Clinton seems destined for the Democratic nomination.I met John Edwards and thought he was a used car salesman! Mitt Romney can't shed Massachusettes loser syndrome.

Rob, I have vast knowledge of Cuba and cigars,Should Hillary win,I'll be applying to your good graces and moving to Australia,or going somewhere in the Caribbean.

We've had 8 years of "crazy with Muslims". It's a mess.

Colt 45..... polls out yesterday show 60% disapproval ratings for Bush and 61% disapproval of the Iraq war.

Republican long shot with a real chance... George Allen of Virginia. For the Democrats, I agree with Professor Twain.... Warner or Edwards. Elizabeth Edwards is doing well.

When taking rating's for Poll's you have to take into account where and how many people .

Most group's poll in area's that view thing's the same way.

You really have to look closely at these poll's other wise they are useless.

It is OK once you are in office... but Giuliani would have to win the Republican primary, where such matters carry a lot of weight. His infidelity was particularly nasty and public--he dropped out of his Senate race against Hillary Clinton because of it, he would have gotten his ass kicked by her in New York. He has also been pro-abortion rights and pro *** rights, this plus his personal baggage won't allow him to win the Republican nomination.

By the way I am a Democrat but I like McCain, he is much more intelligent, experienced, and a straight shooter compared with Bush II.

A pole is something around which a ***** spins...

A poll, however, is something with which a ***** spins.

Enough for it to be statistically valid plus or minus three percentage points. It also concurs with other similar polls.

Guest boss hogg

» I have got to think McCain.

You guys have to remember that a lot of, if not most, conservatives cannot stand McCain. I have great respect for what the man went through in Vietnam, but he isn't the only POW in our history. McCain, Giuliani, and Pataki are what I call a RINO- Republican In Name Only. Good guys, but they aren't going to pass conservative voters.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Condi Rice. As CigarNV mentions, it could be interesting to see if two formers governors of Virginia- Allen (Rep) and Warner (Dem) make a go.

Bush has pissed nearly everyone off, but you must admit that Carter, Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton all allowed Islamofascists to get more and more audacious in their attacks on Western Civilization.

Tell me one productive thing that Hillary has done in the Senate besides running her mouth. Her pro-war stand (for the past couple of years, anyway) might not go over well with the hardcore Dems.
