jadawin Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Just curious what everyone uses here. I use a Xikar xi2 as my primary cutter. For a lighter i have a nice colibri andromeda i got from my girlfriend, but for home use when i want something a bit bigger, i use a creme brulee torch. makes quick work when toasting to foot of a nice cigar.;-)
stevejb Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 A cheap little punch or cutter if not using my teeth. For lighting I have 1 gifted Colibri out of 4 that still works. Otherwise I use cigar matches. I won't spend good money on stuff that I will most likely lose or break.
anacostiakat Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 I use an Xikar MultiTool cutter or Xikar punch. Lighter? At home I use Djeep disposable butane lighters. I have a Porsche and a Lotus that I take out sometimes.
n2advnture Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 #1 Palio - this has been my "go to" cutter for about 5 years now #2 Tied between SAK (swiss army knife cigar cutter) or a rosewood Xikar Lighters: Solo Trek (best "affordable" lighter w/ lifetime warranty!) ST Dupont Line 2 chinese black laquer and gold (My favorite lighter ever) ST Dupont X-Tend (my 2nd favorite lighter ever) Porsche designed lighter that nice and thin that I keep in the truck for emergencies (a gift from a good friend)
cigarnv Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Great question! As for owning my wife would suggest I own one of everything whenit comes to cutters and lighters... she is probably close..:-) When at home I use Zino sissors and a Caran D'ache lighter. When out I use a Havana Cutter and a Djeep lighter.
cvm4 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Palio cutter and a script torch lighter that you use to light a grill. LOL
Lorax429 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 I have the Xi2 as my cutter. When I'm out of the house I have a zippo with what has proven to be a very reliable and sturdy Z-Plus torch insert. When I'm home, like Jada, I have a creme brulee torch I like to use to light up.
smk819 Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Xikar cutter Home Depot mini welding torch, $9.95 lasts about 2 years.
El Presidente Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Don't use a cutter and use a Blazer lighter. Barbarian :-P

Islesfan Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Use an Xikar Cutter Zippo Lighter with Z plus insert
Maverick Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I have a dodgy twin blade cutter and a dodgy jet lighter that I bought in a dodgy cigar shop a while back, I think the pack cost 20AUD so you can imagine the quality. I am waiting to get to the FOH House again to pick up a new set. Ross...
ironman Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Palio...the only cutter you will ever need, it cuts perfect and has a lifetime guarentee!!! I use a PB207 for a lighter, hold a ton of fuel!!!
mgillett Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Use a cheap cutter that badly needs replacing and a $5 jet lighter from Paddy's Markets in Sydney. Had it for 3 years and still going strong!
jay8354 Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I have both a Xikar cutter and Siglo Punch. These days tend to use the Punch more. The cutter just does not cut as clean as I like it to. Though I did learn a new trick from a FOH member. When I do use the cutter, I make a circular cut around the cap only. As for lighter, I have a St Dupont lighter at first but it kept running out of gas. Now use a Z-plus torch lighter for my zippo case. Thinking of getting a chef blow torch to use at home, they just look kool - like a giant torch lighter. :-D
jseeds Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 » Don't use a cutter and use a Blazer lighter. Barbarian :-P Prez - you just bite the cap off? I use a Palio Cutter and cheap double torch lighter.
Taino Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Don't use a cutter on a regular basis, but I have a bunch of cheap guillotines. To light them I like to use matches at home and when I’m in the field I have a couple of windmill weatherproof lighters.
