dogbreath Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Nice review and great pictures! It does have its place when you want something light.
El Presidente Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 You are becoming the master of Pic reviews Great work mate!
cigardawg Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Very nice review. I have been smoking Non Plus from an 03 box. Have had some pretty significant draw problems with around half of them. When they draw well, it is a very nice, mild-to-medium bodied cigar.
SmokinLightning Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Nice review, and great job on the pics! I've not tried one of these yet, I will have to remedy that soon.
Van55 Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I like the photos with the review. Thanks. As for the Non Plus, I have smoked about half a box from 1998. While they are very, very good, I couldn't score them as high as you did this one. Of course individual tastes vary widely, but there are a number of other Marevas that I personally prefer. The Non Plus to me make a nice, sort of salty, change or pace.
JOE.M. Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I have always been a big fan of the 98's. When smoked slowly they can be 1 hour of heaven, smoke them fast and it is like sucking salt water through a garden hose.
habanohal Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I just saw this post and remembered I have an unopened box from Czar a month or 2 ago that I recieved. Looks like my mind is made up for my morning cigar tomorrow.
skid11 Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 Hababohal............. Hope you enjoy it mate. It was interesting that Joe and Van both mentioned a salty hint, to be honest I did'nt pick up on this but I find that if someone mentions a certain flavour, more than not you pick up on it. I have read a few articles were Tobacco grown close to the ocean can have a salty taste ?? I wonder if it's from a windswept effect on the actual leaves or the soils become more impregnated with salts ? Interesting thought.:-)
rusty Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 nice pics!! the non-plus were a great introduction to cubans for me back in 99-00. haven't had many since but they remain a fond memory.
habanohal Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Have gone through quite a few boxes of them. To me they are a salty wild cherry flavor, more flavor pronounced when they are younger
olotti Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Very cool review with the pics. I have a couple of these loose that I have yet to try, maybe tonight is the night after this review.
skid11 Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Only had these in the humidor a few weeks and could'nt resist giving one a try. Great appearance although a little loose leaf towards the foot. Nice unlit aroma and well constructed cap. Nice Petit corona size Well constructed Nice cap First third great aroma great burn and volumes of smoke very tasty Burnt true from start to finish Flavours developed into second third Masses of leaf still burning in the centre. This was a great surprise as I did'nt expect too much from this cigar. It's the first time I have tried one (and not the last !) This had great flavour and although maybe a tad mild for some it hit the spot for me. The burn and aroma exceptional. 92/100:-P :-P
