Greg I Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Hello gentleman and ladies! I am pretty much completely new to the world of cigars (having smoked only 10 or so brands) and would like some recommendations for my first order from the Czar. I like medium bodied smokes with coffee, vanilla, toffee or chocolate overtones. I already know that Monte #2's are on my list as they are the best I have ever smoked (and only a few times). Any other suggestions for a well rounded first filling of a humidor? Also, I am looking for a good quality small humidor (around 50 is fine) any suggestions on this? I just purchased a nice Colibri lighter and Xikar punch, but need some help on the other stuff. Any help is much appreciated as I want to put in an order before the price increase next month! Thanks!

You've already had the 2, I enjoy the 3, 4, and 5 also. Romeo&Julita is another solid line, the cedros deluxe 3 and the Exhibition line are always consistant. You might also enjoy the churchill. The Vegas Robaina line is noted for it's chocolatey profile. El Pres would be a good person to help set up a good set of smokes to get you started.
Ken Gargett Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 if you are enjoying the 2's, toss in a few edmundos.
habanohal Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 » if you are enjoying the 2's, toss in a few edmundos. But make sure you dont get 04s' I would say Cohiba Lanceros, Corona Especials. I think they are the most flavorful of the line. Sglo series is what I call the lighter side of Cohiba. La Gloria Cubana Med D series BOlivar Royal Coronas And if you like the Montes, youll love the Diplomaticos

Greg, From your description of what you enjoy, let me suggest two other Marca's that will provide you with the type of flavor you state you are searching for. Vegas Robaina, and I would suggest the Famosos and the Unicos H.Upmann. and I would suggest the Mag 46 These three cigars could sustain people that enjoy the flavors you seek for the rest of their lives, yet many of us are in search of variety and enjoy many more Marcas as well. genevapics Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 If time is a factor, definitely pick up some Montecristo No.5's. Wonderful 30-45 minute smoke with that Monte taste. Yum!
Stuck in Alaska Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I'll second the Cohiba Corona Especiales and the Mag 46s. Both are pretty doggone good smokes.
El Presidente Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Welcome Greg! Juan Lopez Seleccion No 1 La Gloria Cubana Taino R&J Exhibicion No 4 Cohiba Lancero Vegas Robaina Unico :-)
