Ken Gargett Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Have had little experience with this brand but what i have had has all been very positive. this was no different. Wrapper was a nice brown/teak but outer leaf was a little loose. Seemed not to matter in the end. Burn very well. Nice cone and an even burn. Overall, quite a mild cigar and one that could be fronted any time throughout the day, though the power was a little deceptive by the time it finished. Lovely gentle flavours of coffee and cream, spice and cinnamon. Good dense smoke and the cigar got better and better the longer it went. Really impressed and keen for more. 91.

The Med d #2 are a awesome smoke. For quite some time now I have been looking for a box of LGC Sabrosas. Ever try them? The hunt is always on
Freefallguy Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 What size Ken? I have some Med#2 in transit and was just curious. Cheers mate.
Ken Gargett Posted June 26, 2005 Author Posted June 26, 2005 apologies - brain not yet in gear. it was the tainos. have enjoyed the med no1 in the past as well.
Ken Gargett Posted June 26, 2005 Author Posted June 26, 2005 have not tried sabrosas but after these, very keen to try as many of the range as i can.
habanohal Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 » have not tried sabrosas but after these, very keen to try as many of the » range as i can. Have had #1,#2,#3,#4 and the tainos. They are a fav of mine. A nice light cigar with a fruity twist and spice on the end. Seems that LGC is probably not massed produced and sometime quite hard to get a hold of.

The hunt is always on I got a box of Sabrosos and they are very flavorful, like a milder Patrtagas 898 in my opinion.:-P . Love the Tanos, just have to beware of the plugged cigar potential.
GoatLocker Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Nice review of a great cigar. I'm down to 5 out of a box of 10 from 2000. Good cigar to start the day, with a good cup of coffee.
Mel Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I am almost finished with my first box of LGC Tainos and have one more box in the humi. I really like them and think they have a very different flavor than most all of the Habanos. If I had to pick one brand and vitola that was most distinctive this would be it. I hope the second box is as good as the first. Both are 01. Need to try the #2 that Rob is raving about. Got any more Pres?
Colt45 Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I recently tried my second sample of this cigar (my first had some construction issues). There have been a few reviews of this one, and the general consensus seems to be that it's a unique light to medium bodied cigar. I'd have to agree - I think our humble host put it best when describing it as sugar mixed with milk or cream. There were some light floral / fruit hints as well - smooth and never harsh. A unique and tasty cigar. Another sample will be left alone to see what some time will bring.

I think I started smoking them too soon, but they are a very distinctive cigar. I rarely smoke churchills anymore, which leads me to the following... Definitely try the MdO No. 2. My current box is from 02 and it is dynamite. Great flavors, huge nose...much better than the Tainos IMHO. My box of MdO No. 1s are great as well.

habanohal Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Well I did find my box of Sabrosas from a friend in the UK. IMO they are the best of the whole line up
andymiami Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 » Well I did find my box of Sabrosas from a friend in the UK. IMO they are » the best of the whole line up Glad to hear that people have had great results with this smoke. I had a Taino from 03 recently and it was a little too packed and had a remarkable amount of tannin-like finish, very astringent. I guess I had a bum stick.
Guest itcfernandez Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hi from Miami This is Carlos From Miami, or know as Miami Carlos: I yet to check out the Cuban "La Gloria Cubana, but I have had La Gloria Cubana made in Miami. I have to say they are very good. The Cuban Own Cuban made Miami version of this Cigar is a big hit with the Cuban's, and other Latins in Miami: Here is a write up I did for La Gloria Cubana Miami The Cigar in the photo is a Series R from Miami La Gloria Cubana Carlos Miami Review: La Gloria Cubana is a medium bodied to almost full bodied cigar. It is very well-made by old Cuban Cigars makers on 8 St. It has an earthy character with core of sweet herbal flavors topped with a hint of pepper made in classic Cuban style. This full-bodied cigars was introduced in the following sizes: Nos. 4, 5,6 and 7 Serie R cigars. It has the Carlos from Miami approval, and the price is on the money. Note look for my posting coming soon on Miami Carlos take you Cigars Hunting. Magazine Rating: La Gloria Cubana Cigars has scored as high as 91 in Cigar Aficionado blind taste tests. In 1999, Carlos From Miami Rating: 78 to 81: Note I rate very hard.
