They make great pets. They eat insects, don't smell, no need to walk them, manageable droppings, remind you of your overweight grand father and when licked give you a high. ;-)

the decline in my golf game came about at exactly the same time people got funny about using a golf club on cane toads (for those os, they are an introduced, nasty and much despised pest, much like kiwis). i might add, they were the same people that objected to shoving lit thripenny bungers down their gob. up until then, daily practice on 20-30 toads was good harmless fun. tho i do remember when much younger, chasing one that was getting away and finally getting it, blowing the thing to smithereens and taking an 8" divot and landing the lot in dad's swimming pool. not popular.
