El Presidente Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 6 1/4 inches x 35 Ring Guage. Tampa hit it on the head with this one. Burn't Caramel taste in spades. Not the prettiest stick on earth but the caramel wrapper reflects the flavour 100%. Again, I went through a box of these in Havana. They are inexpensive and represent one of the best value for money cigars on the market. NOT ONE CIGAR WAS PLUGGED which is an amazing feat (by Cuba standards) for this long Panetela size. I would rank it solidly as medium bodied which starts off with charred cherry and wood notes before descending into one long burn't caramel/over extracted Espresso flavour bomb. Burn is OK but again another late 05 cigar and for the price paid ($2euro) who gives a damn. When available pick a box up. 89/100
greenpimp Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Nice review. Sounds right up my alley. These are long filler, right?
El Presidente Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 Here is the rub. I always believed they were Machine made but this box was hand rolled. To be honest, when I like something I tend to gorge first and ask questions later. Let me tear one apart in the interests of science
Tampa1257 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Rob, All I can say is that when they do arrive, I want 2 boxes set aside for me! They are that damn tasty and one hell of a good smoke!

Elric Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 You have to love the Montecarlo. Excellent smoke especially at that price point.

Ginseng Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Fantastically enticing review! Now I'm itching to find out what "burnt caramel" tastes like. Thank you Rob. Wilkey
dogbreath Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Rob, thanks for the review. I've been looking to try this line for a long time, specifically the PC, but this one has me drooling! :-)
DocRKS Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 » Fantastically enticing review! Now I'm itching to find out what "burnt » caramel" tastes like. » I hear it tastes a lot like smoking a PL Monte Carlo....;-) :-D

Black Plague Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 The Montecarlo was my first introduction to Por Larrañaga. :-) These and the Petit Coronas make me very said that there aren't more vitolas in this brand :-(
kingfisher59 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I have only had the PLPC ....But am sure anxious to try the Montecarlo when they are available...
