Hi , My namw is Craig and I am a cigaaholic. I started smokeing about 3-4 years ago.

The main thing that I think is really it gives me something to do, rather than just sitting still. I am one who has to be busy with anything all the time, or I become desructive around the home. ( Tearing walls down, repainting, or just stupid busy work.( And the wife cant stand that)

I am lucky, for I install flooring in new homes everyday. So it sort of gives me a chance to smoke when I want. ( as long as I dont get a burn hole in the carpet) :-D

I golf any chance I get in the warmern months.( 38 degrees f and up) Gambling USE to be another hobby , till my wife explained that it wasnt and it was bleeding us dry. :-(

Right now, a favorite cigar would be a tossup between the Cohiba Corona Especial, and the HDM Pyramid EL.

My least fav would half to be ........ Well I dont really have one that comes to mind

Final thought.......It would be great to have the NSFW Porn section, then when reading FOH, I wouldnt half to keep so many browser tabs open, and keep swithching between them.:-D :-D

Great idea TFL.

When did you started smoking cigars When I was in college, roughly 10-11 years ago. Started with all the NC suspects (Padron, Fuente, Te Amo :lookaround: )

What draws you to them Flavor, camaraderie of smoking with friends, the ritual of smoking, feeling the stress relief and my blood pressure dropping 10-20 points.

What do you do Right now I am working in a family business that I HATE. I plan on getting back into software sales or something in the car industry (manufacturer's side of things).

Hobbies Golf, cigars, reading, cooking, wine, watches, coffee/espresso, fishing

Favourite cigar Wow, tough one. I'd say favourite every day cigars are BPC, MC4, Choix, PLPC, PSD4. For those I cannot afford to smoke that often: Esplendidos, BCG, Dip2.

Least Favourite One that won't draw. I would say NCs, but there are some good ones out there (VSG, Padron anything, Tatuaje)

We can add sections as we go but it is always nice to know about our fellow friends Sounds good.

What do you think? I think all kinds of things, but right now - I'm thinking about the phone calls I have to make and the work I have that isn't getting done. :-P

» When did you started smoking cigars

I started smoking cigars about 10 years ago during the "cigar boom." My first cigar was a Montesino Gran Corona...it all went up hill from there. I have been heavy into Habanos for about the past 18 months, so I'm a relative newbie...but learning fast.

»

» What draws you to them

I have to say the whole ritual of smoking the cigar and everything that goes with it. From choosing the right cigar, to carefully clipping and lighting it, to sitting back and enjoying the flavors. I love to talk about cigars and can do so for hours on end. I enjoy the comradrie...all of my best friends in the world were made while smoking a cigar.

»

» What do you do

I am a chemical engineer by formal training. I work for a large Government contractor doing environmental consulting work for the Department of Defense. I help them solve their environmental problems before they become everyone else's problems.

»

» Hobbies

Well, obviously, cigars. I am going through a very hedonistic phase of my life, so I spend a lot of time enjoying good cigars, good food, good wine, and good bourbon. As for true hobbies, I spend a lot of time training our dogs in agility, working with my Mate's agility training business, and we have recently gotten started horseback riding...great fun. I also like to read, do some writing, and did play volleyball until my knees got too bad.

»

» Favourite cigar

It is very hard for me to pick a favorite cigar. It is such a mood thing. Right now, I'd probably have to pick the Partagas SdC No. 1, the Bolivar CE, or the Punch SS#2.

»

» Least Favourite

Since I started smoking cigars during the "cigar boom," I have tried some truly diabolical blends of tobacco rolled up into cylindrical shaped objects. For purposes of this forum, I'll keep my scope to Habanos. I'd have to say my least favorite has been the SCdlH La Punta...just tasted kind of yucky to me. Did not match my palate at all.

»

This is a great idea Lisa. I look forward to learning more about each of you and hope to get a chance to meet and smoke with as many of you as possible.

I agree with the two above entries that I do not really have a least favorite but if it does not draw, well, I do not care for it. I have been known to throw a cigar ou the window or door if the draw is to much work. I also do not like to wait twenty years for a cigar to mature. I am glad I do not have the same needs as that Min Ron NEE fellow.;-)

Hello my name is Jeff, I've been hooked since the owner of the company I work for gave me a BBF and HDM DC on his return from London 10 years ago and I was blown away by the taste, the smell, the buzz. I had smoked cheap 7-11 cigars for years while night fishing to keep the mosquitos away, but never tasted anything like that. I guess a favorite would be a BBF (wished they tasted like they did in '95). Least favorite are NC'S

thank all of you again for the warm welcome to the board

» When did you started smoking cigars

Started smoking NC cigars about six years ago and Cuban cigars about three years ago.

Of all time I would have to say RYJ Churchill, but right now I am really stuck on a box of Dip #2....just tremendous.

In reply to the First Lady's request:

» When did you started smoking cigars

Started when my friend kept ranting about them before my 24th birthday. So in my infinite wisdom/stupidity (depending on whether you are looking at my or my wife's perpective) I bought a box of Cohiba Robustos and 2 Cohiba DCs. The Cohiba DCs were so smooth, it was magical.

As for the CoRo, the rest of my friends were all either gagging or going green. Kept half of them and aged them for a period of 4 years, they were very well balanced smoke.

» What draws you to them

The allure of being a person who smokes cigar always makes people notice you. Also, I believe that the way cigar smoking is connoted as a gentleperson's past time.

» What do you do

Spend 5 years in Advertising and Graphic Design while doing my Uni degree. After that, decided that I did not enjoy anymore and changed careers into IT. Right at the Tech Bubble crash, was very hard for the next 2 yrs. Finally managed to get a proper job at the bottom of the IT barrrel. Now was as a Information and Project Analyst.

Still looking for the perfect job but....

» Hobbies

So many to list - Cigar Smoking, Wine Drinking, Computers and of course any type of games.

» Favourite cigar

Currently, it is a draw between RAG and Cohiba Lanceros.

» Least Favourite

» » When did you started smoking cigars

Around 2002-2003 (cheap flavoured cigars - I was limited by what could be easily bought) then I had my first real cigar, a RyJ Petit Corona on NYE 2003, and I fell in love.

» » What draws you to them

Relaxation. I usually smoke about once a week, and it's something that I look forward to all week. I now have to smoke by myself because only two of my mates smoke cigars, and one just moved to Ireland and the other to wagga for uni, but it is good in a different way. It gives me time to sit by myself completely relaxed and either detach myself from the world for a few short hours or think over anything I want to.

» When did you started smoking cigars I started this self serving habit about 14 years ago when I move into a 2 family apartment.

An old tailor lived downstairs from me. He would sit on the grand front porch of the lovely victorian house and have a cigar while reading the newspaper every evening during the warm months. One night he asked me to join him for a cigar and that was all it took I was hooked. We spent many an evening smoking and bull$hiting.

When did you started smoking cigars:

Swisher Sweets behind the convenience store when I was 14

GOOD cigars was when I was 18. A new tobacco store had opened down the street from my place and me and a friend decided to try them one day. I didn't really get serious into cigar smoking until I tried (and failed :-( ) to quit cigarettes.

What draws you to them:

The taste is a HUGE part of the appeal, but also the psychological side. It makes you stop whatever the hell you're doing and spend an hour or so relaxing. A cigar also has a way of making you feel big and important, like a 19th century tycoon :-D

What do you do:

I'm a student in Informatics at Indiana University, an Army ROTC cadet, and a member of the Indiana Army National Guard.

Hobbies:

Cigars (obviously), reading profusely, exercising, cooking (often undoes the effects of the previous), enjoying beer and spirits (see above :lol2: )

Favourite cigar:

I have to list several....Cohiba Esplendido, Romeo y Julieta Petit Corona, Romeo y Julieta Petit Piramide, Montecristo No. 4, Bolivar Royal Corona, and Partagas Shorts

Least Favourite:

Thankfully, not many...mostly the already crappy ones, like Guantanamera and Los Statos (yuck)

Pharmacist

Hobbies:

CIgars, Fly Fishing, Computers, English Medieval History (don't hate me please :-D - and I am not even British, just 100% Italian- Go figure)
