Popular Post MrBirdman Posted June 20 Popular Post Posted June 20 Utterly disgusting. US is approaching Russian levels of systemic corruption. What’s worse is how few people seem to care. 5
treberty Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I don't want to get banned. I had read about it but hadn't realized how bad it was. It is getting ridiculous though.

sactochris Posted June 20 Posted June 20 America deserves whatever we get. Elections have consequences. But hey, at least we don't have to listen to that laugh.

Are you saying this is "fake" news? https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/sherritt-sells-majority-stake-9.7206156 https://sherritt.com/sherritt-announces-exclusivity-agreement-with-gillon-capital-and-appointment-of-independent-director/ https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/article/sherritt-signs-preliminary-deal-to-sell-majority-stake-in-company/
El Presidente Posted June 23 Posted June 23 The Sherritt play was a really interesting development. It "potentially" has implications for other Cuban industries with OS JV partners. "In connection with the agreement, Sherritt says it has confirmed that the U.S. departments of State and Treasury do not object to Gillon's talks with the company, but that any deal would require their approval." Soooooo, Could US companies now buy out Cuba OS joint venture partners subject to US department of State and Treasury approval? The rub here is that a non US company trying to do the same would face sanctions. This gives US companies an inside run. Fascinating times.

Like so many internet sensations, it uses selective data to promote their opinion as fact and interpret and draw conclusions to support it's bias and agenda. So far, the Sherrit thing is a non-binding agreement that requires approval both from the Toronto Stock Exchange and US Dept of the Treasury. A lot of ifs, possibilities and maybes...Hardly the "Start of the Imperial Plunder of Cuba". Get back to me when it actually happens. 1
VeguerosMAN Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I am noticing there is many Communist sympathetic journalism sites in the West, including the noble BBC. I hope we agree that the current Cuban regime has to be wiped off from the map whether you are left or right.

Far from exclusive to just internet sensations. Bias and everything else you described is all news outlets in a nutshell. True, but with the body of evidence that exists, not that far fetched either. Given the sanctions imposed on other countries it seems the deck is rigged for when the game does start. That to me seems like far too much of a coincidence. However please don't interpret my comments as opposition to any of it. Ultimately, I think what's going on is necessary and even with plundering will end up with a positive outcome. All any of us can do is make some popcorn, sit back, watch and relish our insignificance in it all. I leave us with a famous quote "To the victor belongs the spoils" -Bobby Baccalieri 1
