El Presidente Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 that I have been wearing since 2022. It has been a great watch for the daily gym sessions, step count etc.It is showing a propensity to freeze of late so it is coming to the end of days. For dress watches I have a selection of Franck Muller, ORIS, Omega, Cuervo y Sobrinos. That will do me for dress watches but the reality is I wear my smartwatch 95% of the time. With the Samsung Watch 9 to be released next month, I was wondering what you are wearing and why? Your thoughts? I am thinking between the new Galaxy watch 9 and the Garmin Quatix 8, given our boat is fully Garmin electronics and they synch. What are you rocking? What are your experiences? Gracias 1
Li Bai Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I've been wearing a Xiaomi Smart Band 10 for a couple of weeks now and I'm quite pleased with it. I've never really liked wearing a watch, it's always been uncomfortable to me so I didn't want to spend too much on it and it does the job pretty well so far. I'll see where I go from there, interested to read knowledgeable people's takes on it. 👍 3
Popular Post TheCigarSoldier Posted June 16 Popular Post Posted June 16 I wear a Garmin Epix for work and love it. I'd probably lean Fenix for my next one. Battery lasts nearly a week if you're not doing all that much, handful of days if you're using it for GPS, workouts, golf, etc. I get notifications for calls and texts if I have it synched up to my phone, but it doesn't have to be either and still does everything besides notifications. Oddly, I like the fact that I cannot respond to a text with it, just feels like a little guardian of my personal time allowing me to read a message but not forcing an on the spot response. 4 1
Fuzz AI Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I used to wear a Fitbit Charge 2 HR. Was okay, monitored my heart rate and step count but couldn't go anywhere near water or even rain. Then I had a Huawei GT 2 Pro. That watch was in my opinion far better than other smart watches at the time. Huge 2-3 week battery life, could answer and make calls through it, change the face to hundreds of free downloadable designs (or even make your own), automatically tracked your steps, heart rate and if you had a Huawei phone it would also track your blood oxygen levels (I didn't as I had a Samsung phone). But when Huawei was kicked off Google Play Store, no more updates unless I downloaded the Huawei app from a third party. So I was on the market for a new watch. Then came along the Samsung Watch 7. Good size (44mm), monitors steps/heart rate/sleep, can download many different dials and customise them, IP68 and 5ATM rating, great sapphire crystal screen, armoured aluminium case (have smacked it around at bit at the warehouse with no damage), still can make and receive calls/SMS through it (also get Signal and WhatsApp messages), thinner than the Huawei GT 2 Pro and pairs easily with my Samsung S25+ phone. Only down side is a 2 day battery life (depending on usage) and it requires a special curved charging base (no more reverse charging off your phone like previous models). I've been very happy with the Watch 7 so far. 3
Duder Posted June 16 Posted June 16 13 hours ago, Li Bai said: I've never really liked wearing a watch, it's always been uncomfortable to me I never wore a watch until a few years ago for the same reason. Being an Apple fanboy since I was a teen I finally couldn’t resist Apple Watch so I picked up an Utra when they came out and I love it. I especially love the fitness and sleep tracking features. Also, I can leave my phone if I’m traveling light and go all Dick Tracy if I need to. 3
joeypots Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I have had a couple of Apple watches, the one I wear now is a large size that's about three years old. It was a low price one so I don't care if it gets banged up. I do use it, without paying for any apps, to track fitness and health. The alarm feature where it wakes me up by vibrating on my wrist is a fantastic feature. The timer feature is great for cooking and for the work I do. I don't care about jewelry so I don't own any statement watches. I'm an Apple guy and the watch will show me important notices, silently, without me being disturbed by the phone. I probably wouldn't miss it much if I didn't have it but I don't mind having it around. 3
garifo Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I have a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro. I like it because it has excellent battery life, accurate fitness and health tracking, built-in GPS, and it's rugged enough for both workouts and everyday wear. It gives me all the data I need without having to charge it every day. 3
