garifo Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Wow, that's great news! I can't wait to hear the exact dates. I visit Roatán often and try to take my family there every July. I was born in Honduras and have family in Utila, the island next to Roatán. The last time we visited, I took the family out to Cayos Cochinos, and it was an amazing experience. It's always a special trip for us and a great way to reconnect with family and enjoy the beauty of the islands. 2
ha_banos Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Coincidentally, lunchtime today was an episode of Carribbean with Simon Reeves. He starts in Roatan, Honduras in 2015. Whoah! Things are better nowadays, but still! One does not go off the beaten track! £700 flights in Feb. Let's see... 2

Granted, Central America and Roatan are not for everyone, but having owned a house there for many years I can assure you that the Island is not like the mainland. I for one felt much safer there than I do in any major Nth American or European city. Tourism is the main economic driver so they cater to the tourists...English is the main language in the Bay Islands, the beaches at West Bay are spectacular, the vibe in West End is funky and bohemian and the East end of the island is mostly undeveloped with lots of small resorts. The diving, and especially the snorkeling are world class on the second largest fringe reef system in the world, second only the the Barrier reef in OZ, and the dive sites are right offshore so boat rides a in minutes, not hours. I only hope that after the FOH crew are done and gone, there is something left standing for everyone else. 2 1 1

It is a long, narrow, and mountainous island stretching about 45 miles long, celebrated worldwide as an affordable, world-class diving paradise that retains a laid-back, authentic Caribbean charm. It is also one of Hamlet's favourite places in the world. After 12 days at our Danli factory, he will head to Roatan for some R&R. We are planning a 2027 4 day event at Roatan for all Fabrica 5/Bond Roberts cigar lovers from around the world. Roatan is safe, beautiful and the perfect location. Our Danli team will come in for not only cigar rolling but to spend some time with you all. This will be a small intimate 4 day event. Cigars, wine, rum, fishing, beach etal. We will put on a shindig that is personal, informal, inviting, FOH. Direct flights from the US/Canada/South-Central America are available. Dates and details soon. Partners welcome. Hamlet and I will be your host Uh oh. You mean...Canuckians are invited too??? It's been 6 years since I've bear hugged you last. The last videos I've seen of you, you're on this so called "health kick" and you might be more fragile. Are you sure you want to open the door to us being there and me being your date for a 4-night window??? 1
