It's minimal, and I doubt it would make much difference to the greater majority of our members, but what the heck...it's a small 'win', isn't it? California’s Cigar Tax Rate Decreasing This Summer May 10, 2026 - Patrick Lagreid The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration has announced its annual adjustment to the cigar tax rate, and it’s a bit of good news for cigar smokers. On July 1, the rate will drop from 54.27 percent of the wholesale cost to 51.08 percent, a change that will save consumers at least a little bit of money.
