El Presidente Posted March 24 Posted March 24 This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away! Why oh lord why? Don't get me wrong, the blend is excellent. Rich, tasty and oozing in lip smacking Montecristo cocoa/creamy goodness. There are some who claim that it is a superior blend to the hallowed Montecristo Number 2. I wouldn't argue the point. But here is where the bean counters at Habanos SA got it all wrong. They released a cigar that no one asked for, a cigar that is 23% shorter than the Monte 2 and priced it roughly 10% cheaper. Hard to believe it hasn't been a more successful seller Montecristo Petit Number 2 .....Let's kick off the discussion 1
Popular Post Duder Posted March 24 Popular Post Posted March 24 Never bought any for the exact reasons you stated. I’ve probably smoked more Monte 2 than any other non-Cohiba. An absolute classic so I don’t need a shorter version. Hard to improve on perfection. 6

Popular Post Li Bai Posted March 24 Popular Post Posted March 24 I don't understand this cigar, I didn't vote because I've never had one and don't intend to. Very much agreed with @Lucas Buck and @Chibearsv 👍 5 1
Mike Mecklenburg Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I would purchase singles but no box for me. When I need my Monte fix I go for the 2, 4 and Edmundo. 4
Gubbins Posted March 25 Posted March 25 “It must be for people who buy ponies” Joking aside though, they do look quite tasty but I’ve never tried one. As others have said. I’d sooner park my coin in some Monte 2s. 3
JDoughty Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I do love a Monte #2. Never tried the Petit No.2, but would probably give it a go. Not sure the price point makes a lot of sense though, especially since I'm not confident it would evolve the same way flavor wise as the full sized one does. 3
Chucko8 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I've never tried one but sure wouldn't turn up my nose if given the chance. Do enjoy the brand as a whole. 4
Popular Post Cestis4 Posted March 25 Popular Post Posted March 25 I have a box of 2022. I like them when I don’t have the time for a normal No.2 and I am out of Petit Edmundos. I think the Petit Edmundo has a more robust flavor profile for some reason and I would smoke a Petit Edmundo over a Petit No.2 regardless of price being an issue. 4 1
