DeeBeezy Posted January 13 Posted January 13 In 2025 I smoked a total of one D4. Only one. This a cigar that I have gravitated away from over the years. Why? Because I don’t get enough of that signature D4 spiced cream note I crave. When this note is present, this is one of the very best in the portfolio. Unfortunately, across different boxes, I have not found it enough. Do you know what note I’m talking about? If so, do you find it missing from many D4? How are recent box codes smoking? I would love to jump back on. Sell it to me. 2
zacca Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I know exactly what you’re talking about and I’m chasing that dragon currently because I’ve also found it in shorts and D5-6. Not enough sample size to have any ideas about years or factories, but I’m on the hunt. 3

barrygoodvibes Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago For me it’s a baking spice and cinnamon coffee cake note that I absolutely love when I get it. Probably get it one in every four, on average. 2
ChicagoRob Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Love this guys. How long for and in what conditions?I’m also interested in D4 tricks. Have had a few killer sticks and just as many mediocre. 1
Ford2112 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I haven't had the best luck with the D4. May have to try a severe dry boxing. 1

Any way that you can gently, gradually absorb some of the moisture. The key word is gradual. Don’t bury it in desiccant, for instance. 😄 I have two or three old desktop humidors that I outgrew years ago, and they are basically dry cedar. One of them I use as a drybox. If I want to smoke something right away, I’ll usually grab an NC and go. For CC, I usually pick out a stick I know I’m going to want in a couple days, cut it, and put it in the drybox for a couple days. I feel like clipping it first is a good move, and that maybe more moisture from the head can get drawn out that way, but it may make no difference. 3
