Calling FOH Colombos: Diplomatico Number 7

Question for the esteemed FOH Colombos. 

 

Confirming the dress box of the Diplomatico Number 7 and the Semi boîte nature box of 25 cigars were available at the same time period. 

Does anyone have/source picture of the 100 count humidor?

I can tell you that MRN's, 'An Illustrated Encylopaedia of Post Revolution Havana Cigars' has an image of a Diplomaticos No.5 semi-boite box with the same precise printing on it (and sticker). It's not much to go off on, but at least it can get the ball rolling, so-to-speak.

The info about there being a 100ct comes from the MRN book. MRN lists a great many different cigars as available in 100s, but I've only ever seen a handful of 100ct boxes actually in the wild and they only very rarely appear in catalogues. Not sure where MRN he got his info on the Diplo 7 as there is no mention of 100s in any of his usual sources.

Anyway, the point is that even in the 60s and 70s 100s must have been a tiny fraction of production, and possibly didn't actually exist for some of the things reported to have had it. Most cigars in that era were available in any packaging that retailers cared to order them in, so it may have been that the 100s were an option that nobody took them up on.

Would be very keen to hear about it though if anybody has anything more concrete.

Would love to have a 100ct of these. But my 25ct as shown in the 1st pic have sufficed. 😌
