I ponder how many smaller shipments usually make their way through... I feel like whatever outfit is responsible worked their way up to a 4k+ batch and had plenty of smaller successes to embolden their greed.

Counterfeit Cuban cigars coming out of Cuba now. Or always ?....Nicked from factories or nicked tobacco? Or farm tobacco? Or floor shavings? Or...?

It is a roaring trade right now for obvious reasons. From the freeway of cigars from the sidedoor of factories  to chincalle cigar operations doing fakes within Cuba (some very good ones) utilising farm tobacco to OS operations putting together high end fakes "replicas" of humidors/books/Behike/top end. They are using high end Cuban tobacco. Of course you also have the crap tobacco fakes that are peddled from bar to bar, corner to corner.
