El Presidente Posted July 25 Posted July 25 This series seeks to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away Today: Bolivar belicoso Finos. BBF is a stalwart in my humidor. I have friends however who detest them. Let's go a little deeper into the weeds. Outside of the poll, which do you prefer and why? Let us know in this thread 1
Lucas Buck Posted July 25 Posted July 25 With lots of age age they are absolutely brilliant. With even just a few years age they are great cigars but with significant age they are phenomenal. Recently smoked an ‘02 SLB which was incredibly decadent. Not a big Boli guy but these are firmly in my rotation. Also probably the most consistent Piramides along with the Cohiba. 3
Popular Post chasy Posted July 25 Popular Post Posted July 25 It’s a great cigar. In a vitola filled with so many divas, the BBF is the girl next door. 9 1

SLB > dress box for sure. But with that being said, I've had some absolute bangers from both. Don't know if I've had any > 7 years old. But I could see them having some serious legs. As is the case with most boli. 7
riderpride Posted July 25 Posted July 25 With the Coronas Extra fading in the rear view mirror, these are the first thing that comes to mind when I hear Boli mentioned. I don't often keep them around in my smoking humidor, but I've enjoyed each one I've had. Cheers 3
Ford2112 Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I have had some construction issues with BBF. As for humidor worthy not by the box but I will always have a few singles on hand as I do like the blend. I had a few BBF Reservas that were some of the best cigars I ever had! 2
Redgoldband Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Haven’t had any yet, but I’m stocking on up ‘em. Anticipate grabbing more in the fall. Good to know BBF will do me well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

I hope you like it if you're loading up. They have a very unique flavor and some people don't like them. 2

loose_axle Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Old faithful for me. Never had a bad one and my go-to when I wish for a comfort cigar. 3

I've got probably a dozen or so singles in my humidor at ages ranging from 2018-2021 & I just kinda forget to search them out when I'm looking in my singles drawers. Should probably revisit one soon but good to know that extended aging is a good thing here.
Tstew75 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Not a huge fan of young Boli, but these are sublime after about 6 years. Construction is always spot on. 1
alloy Posted July 27 Posted July 27 I have 8 left out of a 10 count secondary market buy. 2018 and smoking awesomely! Also waiting for a box from FOH. I like how Lisa is being very careful to get them to me. 😀 1
zeedubbya Posted July 27 Posted July 27 The one which makes me go meh…Have had a couple boxes and some singles, no construction issues to speak of, but I just don’t love the flavor profile, even with age. To each their own, but I would much rather have a Tubos 1, PC or a BRC. Definitely would take Coronas Extra back and sweep the BBF bye bye. I like the SP Beli, La Punta and maybe, just maybe the (don’t get mad) RyJ Beli more. IMO, the BBF is the closest in profile to an NC in the whole Habanos catalog. Give me an Aladino Classic Toro or a Fabrica 5 Trinity Robusto for a for a lot less $. Even when they were $10 each, meh. Min Ron Née (may he RIP) says “decent tobacco taste” and I couldn’t agree more. 3
