Çnote Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 I think this is a '16. It could be a random single I picked up somewhere. It's not near as mellow as 8-9 years would imply, but Tatuaje Black does what it wants. Upfront blast of leather and hot lava rocks, salty duck fat on the finish. These are usually too short to go anywhere, but this one cranks the octane up with bitter cocoa and espresso, traces of classic apricot duck sauce. It's smoking way more fast than it ought and shows a ton of sourdough pan grille. Yep, some construction issues here, a mousehole pops up so fast I didn't get a picture. After burning thru that, this cools and slows considerably, showing more a gingerbread latte profile, maybe it is a '16. Chugs along merrily to the nub, but this one gets bitter and harsh again. Hard 83 but a tough burn, what can you do? 4
