Popular Post Webbo Posted June 13 Popular Post Posted June 13 Passing through the other evening on the way back to the UK and was surprised to see the airport LCDH store had quite a few boxes of regular production Cohibas (Mainly CoRo). Went to the lounge and called back down about 20 mins later to see 2 guys (Chinese the manager later mentioned) literally just buying all the stock, about 25- 30 boxes. They did not check a single box inside, just pulled them off the shelves, plonked them on the table paid and left. The manager said this happens almost every time they get in any stock and always the Cohiba. Plenty of Trinidad R&J specials left and notably loads of the over priced blue band Partagas (looks like Havana’s shot themselves in the foot with that branding). No wonder some of the smaller brands are struggling when this type of business model can be so (financially) successful. Feels like I am trapped in a hobby that doesn’t want people like me. 7 2 1

LordAnubis Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Ease up you socialist. Did you think Tabacuba cares about you? That’s where you went wrong. Thinking habanos was by the enthusiast for the enthusiast. I think it’s actually an interesting point. Before we had “heritage releases”. LEs with old Ramon bands as an example and things from the past to rejuvenate the “heritage” of Cuban cigars. Now there is not a single shred of heritage left in Cuban cigars I don’t think, because the premium clientele of today doesn’t care for that. 2

What were the prices on the boxes? $1600 - $2000 each?

MrFolgers Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I watched a video recently (for the life of me can't remember which one) and they were in an LCDH in Cuba and a Chinese woman was in there and spent $100,000+ on Cohiba. I'll see if I can find it.
