The last time I did this was after drinking with Hamlet at the Nacional hotel in Havana until 7am. He insisted I go back to his house and explain to his then wife, that the session was all my fault. Jesus, I can still remember knocking on the door…..hearing the swearing …..the reaching for the pots/pans and knife…..the door opened and there she was with a full face of fury that changed abruptly when she saw me ….Hamlet tail between his legs behind…the face changed to disdain.
