2025 Memorial Day Plans

The unofficial start to summer, Memorial Day, is fast approaching. If you're anything like me, you've been looking forward to a glorious 3-day (sometimes 4 or 5-day) weekend since mid-April. My family and I are flying back East to see our family and enjoy some festivities with friends. That trip will likely be a non-smoking adventure, but I plan to get together with a buddy of mine tomorrow before jetting off to enjoy the holiday. So, FOH, what are your Memorial Day plans? What stick do you have on deck? My buddy is into cigars but I'm unsure if he's dived into Cubans. So I'll be giving him a JL2 and an HUHC. I plan to enjoy a PSD5, Mtc MC, and/or San Cris Principe? What do y'all have on deck?

Greenhouse full of garden seedlings to plant, but the weather is supposed to be cold all holiday weekend. May plant them either way.

Have one of those nasty summer colds brewing so not sure I'll be smoking. I'll still be watching some of the Indy 500, Coca-Cola 600 and final weekend of EPL while doing my best to honor those who gave everything for me to be able to sit on my sofa and complain about sports of all kinds.

Im going fishing in the Sierras or for Bass somewhere. Cigars will be smoked in some Casino.

Golfing, Cigars, Yardwork, Cigars, and a cookout, maybe one more cigar to round out the weekend.

Forgetting that everything is closed Monday, then either rifling through the fridge and finding nothing to grill or, alternatively, finding something and opening up the grill only to find a giant wasps nest. Making pasta instead, then having a smoke and a good day with the missus in spite of the terrible planning.

Memorial Day is tricky for me. I love the day celebrating the ones we have lost, but it also a very solemn day as I think about my friends and military family that are no longer here and should be. I have plans to work on my Grandfather's Corvette as he overheated it, lol. Nothing fun but I do love spending time with family.

Played golf this morning with friends. Enjoying Punch Mantua on the patio with Tilly right now contemplating climbing the ladder to fill a couple woodpecker holes in the siding. I hate those little bastards. We call them slumlords since they just make holes for sparrows and starlings to move in. Tomorrow some piddling around the house and time to fire up the grill.
