Popular Post JohnS Posted May 10 Popular Post Posted May 10 I wish anyone wishing to open a Brick & Mortar store in Sydney, Australia the very best of luck! The World’s Newest Davidoff Shop Opens in Sydney May 7, 2025 - Samuel Spurr Australia’s first official Davidoff of Geneva store has just opened in the heart of the Strand Arcade, located just off Sydney’s bustling retail Pitt Street Mall precinct, bringing you the world’s finest cigars and luxury accessories, all in one elegant location. The owners, who previously operated Sydney Cigar House store at the Strand Arcade have now closed this much smaller kiosk and are relishing being in a much larger space, complete with Davidoff branding. While the new store proudly showcases an extensive selection of Davidoff cigars, the offerings don’t stop there. The store also offers a wide variety of Cuban cigars, New World cigars, and more — carefully selected to suit every palate and preference. In addition to cigars, Davidoff of Geneva offers a broad selection of luxury accessories, making the store your top destination for refined gifting — whether it’s a personal indulgence or a special gift for that someone special. Popular Post ATGroom Posted May 12 Popular Post Posted May 12 Very bizarrely given the Australian legal situation for cigars, I know of three other high-end cigar places that are deep into the process and should be opening in Sydney in the next year or so... this is after 20 year period of decline of cigar friendly venues in Australia that had more or less seen them go extinct. Perhaps Sydney is the new Hong Kong? 8
ha_banos Posted Monday at 08:06 PM Posted Monday at 08:06 PM Very strange. I thought Aus along with Canada are two places worse than UK for nanny state. London is opening up lots of high end places recently and more coming. And given it's end of days here for tobacco, it's very odd. Must be a lot of wealth in Aus. How do I get in on all this global wealth action? (Without selling my soul that is...) 1
Lamboinee Posted Monday at 10:38 PM Posted Monday at 10:38 PM If I'm not mistaken, Davidoff recently announced the closure of two Davidoff of Geneva corporate owned locations (NY and TX). I presume that the AUS store is a franchise location since the article mentions the owners had a previous venture under a non-Davidoff name. Interesting that corporate stores are closing while franchise stores are apparently expanding. My understanding is that the "buy-in" for the official Davidoff humidor shelving is substantial! I hope they recoup their investment! 1
