How much does the final section of a cigar affect your rating and appreciation?

When you are considering a cigar overall, do you hold the final third or last couple inches to the same standard as the rest?

I’d be interested in hearing people’s views.

Huge! Almost all of my favorite cigars smoked great down to the nub. Smoked a Partagas Maestra Origen the other day that was lovely until the last third which torpedoed the whole experience if I’m honest. The best sticks gotta finish well!

It can’t be a great cigar without the whole cigar being great. I don’t need the nub to be different, just needs to keep delivering good flavor.

When I nub a cigar I tend to remember the experience better than when I don't.

The second third to the nub tells me if I've got something special in my hands or not.

I have smoked plenty CCs that were pretty meh and only have redemption from the nub. MC#4s please stand up.

I'll give a pass to a young cigar for the last inch or so but overall, yes.

Just like a song or a movie, if I'm not blown away at the nub (I almost always nub my cigars) then it wasn't a great cigar, good maybe but not great.
