BrightonCorgi Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Are Great Wall cigars sold in the US? I'd be curious to try some of the ones he mentioned?
MrFolgers Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 I wonder if the Chinese fake Chinese cigars? 🤔 1 2

SUP8333 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 The lower priced Great wall cigars are good value for money. Decent taste but very linear with close to no changes start to finish with the exception of the common bitterness towards theh end. The 'GL' translates to 'National Gift'. I've tried the GL1 and as much as I can remember about the cigar, it smells lightly sweet, tasted wood, nuts, leather with a very strong lingering fermentation sourness at the back of your tongue. Different? Yes. Would I buy it again? No. Although I have heard from some it becomes better with age... Nah, I'll let someone else waste their time aging it. 2 3
El Presidente Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 Great Wall display at Dortmund was very impressive. I like their intenrational growth plan on the back of Central American tobacco in their premium blends. Deep pockets. Smart packaging. They will get better as their focus and subsequent experience of international markets takes hold. 4

Hoepssa Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 The price of Habanos is crazy there, so there's room to grow for locals brands, they have some double banded luxury items, which are 'average' only. Local demand is considerable, so they produce more but simultaneously the QC is bad now. I'd smoke some other NC brands. 1
SCgarman Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 I'm intrigued by these, and would be interested in trying one. I wonder if any members here have travelled to China and brought home a box or some singles.
