Rolling Cigars owner Ron Stevens got the idea for his mobile humidor business after seeing vendor trucks set up at an event.

“I always forget cigars when I go some place,” Stevens said. “[My wife and I] were at the Truck Yard and I looked up and saw a bunch of vendor trucks...and it popped into my head to look into the possibility of a cigar [vendor] truck.”

Rolling Cigars is a mobile humidor offering different styles of cigars at various events such as weddings, corporate functions, trade shows and festivals.

What’s special about it?

Once hired, Stevens said customers have options, such as choosing a predetermined number of cigars for an event, or Stevens can set up his mobile humidor to sell directly to customers. He can also set up a hand roller and roll cigars with custom bands.

Stevens said Rolling Cigars offers eight to 12 types of cigars at every event. Additionally, Stevens said he has partnered with a Dallas-area company that sells cigar accessories so he can offer customized lighters, carry cases, cutters and humidors.

“I try to make a unique experience for the actual person,” Stevens said. “I want to fit what they're looking for.”

Additional Details

Stevens' 18-foot-trailer can travel to different locations, but Rolling Cigars regularly sets up at various North Texas locations, including the Truck Yard in The Colony, Rollertown Beerworks in Celina and Tupps Brewery in McKinney, where Rolling Cigars has been selected to be a regular vendor.

This should be forwarded to the guy who was recently asking whether he should get into the cigar biz. This looks like a great fun way of dipping your toe. But getting robbed would be a concern.

It's getting harder and harder to find even outdoor events where smoking is permitted/tolerated beyond the obligatory small area sequestered far away, next to the porta potties, and with one of those cigarette depository ashtray/garbage cans. I hate smoking cigars in that area, there's nowhere to sit down and I have very little in common with the ladies chain smoking Virginia Slims.
