Cuban tourism falls further short of 3 million visitors expected in 2024

By the end of August, the island received only 96.5% of the tourists who arrived in the same period last year. Official forecasts seem very difficult to meet.

"What incentive is there to go there? Certainly not cheap cigars, world class cuisine or cheap resorts.

Money, that's the reason. Cuban resorts are crazy cheap right now. They desperately need cash so current prices are super low.

Food is decent, yes, shortages on everything, yes. But imagine for a second, here in Ontario to rent just a cottage for a week would be more expensive than to go to a brand new all-inclusive hotel in Cuba (flight & transfer included).

And speaking of cigars they are at least twice cheaper on the island than here in Canada. Friend of mine brought me a box of Epicure No.2 this June from Cayo Santa Maria duty free. He paid approximately $595CAD after conversion. Cheapest option here is $1016CAD.

He also told me there were lots of tourists from Latin America on the resort because with current prices it became affordable.

Perhaps it's the best time to go to Cuba now for cheap bastards like me.
