Popular Post JoeyBones777 Posted June 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 4, 2024 I've lost track of when these first dropped but, these were ordered upon release. There is a nice heft to it. Construction is beautiful and the wrapper has a gorgeous sheen to it. First third, starts off on the light side of medium. The best way to describe it is toasted shredded wheat and semi sweet chocolate. The retrohale is smooth and creamy. This creaminess builds on the palate as the body builds through the first third. The aroma is nice with a slightly floral scent in it. Second third is now medium body and slowly building. The smoke is creamy on the palate and imparting a touch of cream flavor. The flavors are bakery in nature with some sweet spices. The chocolate has died down. Within the bakery there are little hints of sourdough on the draw. The finish is roasted nuts, like a hybrid of walnuts, pecans and hazelnuts. Final third is creeping in the medium full range. The toasted shredded wheat is back, a touch of sourdough, sweet spices, a slight floral component, roasted nuts and slight creaminess. Toward the end some light pepper, earthiness and leather started creeping in and adding an unpleasant grittiness to the flavors. The construction on these is Davidoff/Padron Anniversary level! The look, draw, combustion and burn are all near perfect and consistent! I would even say the draw is better because it has some resistance, which I prefer. Given the price point, that is a HUGE plus for these and an immediate counterpoint to CC. Overall, I'm sitting at 93 for this smoke. It is a great cigar that fell back slightly at the end of the final third in both flavor and burn, as I had to touch it up twice in the final 10 minutes. If time smooths out the last third, this is easily a 95. 8
El Presidente Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Great review and I am with you. I hit a 93/94 Spada Gorda two weeks back and have been smoking the rest of the bundle almost exclusively since. 2
Chibearsv Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 My favorite of the F5 lineup so far with Trinity and Ninfa nipping at the heels. 2

I recently won a 5 pack of the Trinity. I smoked one rott and it was good. They have been resting about 3 weeks now, I think, I might smoke one for review in the next couple days.
GVan Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Good review, this is my current favorite with half of the first bundle now gone. A very good reliable smoke. I too get pecans as a predominant flavor with perhaps a little more leather than you tasted in your review. For me, the earthliness reminds me of a Bolivar and is a welcome addition when it comes along. 1
ubiquito Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 The spada gorda is one of my favorite cigars all-round right now. So good! 2

It's the stick I've been reaching for most nights lately. That said, I've had some issues with draw on a few of them from my latest batch. It's kind of odd too. Seems that the first few draws are good, then it develops a tight spot around the 1/4 area that I have to get through before all is well again. Maybe just need more rest? In any event, still my go-to smoke and I foresee it continuing to be for a while. 2

BBF is one of my favorite CC and the earthiness in BBF is smooth. That is where I think more time down may smooth out the earthiness in the final third and make it more enjoyable. 1
El Presidente Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Great review. I was telling the lads on FOH zoom that I have been smoking the MOFOH Spada Gorda every second cigar over the past three weeks. I love a Corona Gorda and they certainly hit the spot for myself. 1
