La Gloria Cubana Inmensos OGA JUN11 (YCO24)

 I can’t honestly say this is the best cigar I’ve smoke this year, but it’s certainly the most memorable. This is the first cigar I’ve smoked out of this box and it’s also the lightest. Not horribly underfilled, but missing about 3 g. When I received this box I was surprised to see a maduro  wrapper on a La Gloria Cubana. Time has slowly mellowed them into a deep colorado shade. What made this cigar so memorable was when I smelled the foot of the cigar their was a incredible perfume of dried wildflowers. Blindfolded I can’t imagine anyone thinking they were smelling a cigar. I would love to see people’s faces when you showed them what they were smelling.

As expected the draw was easy, very floral with some wood. It opens with a beautiful floral flavor, brown sugar and dark wood. The smoke is silky smooth. I consider myself a retrohale pussy, unless a cigar is well aged I might as well be snorting black pepper. But I could and did retrohale this cigar from first putt to the last. The floral flavor turns into a citrus grapefruit and keeps building to orange, then lavender to currents. It’s been medium bodied until the last third when it ticks up a little and turns into a rich earthy flavor with dark wood and toffee. A perfect Spring afternoon noon cigar on a beautiful Spring day. This cigar smoked itself, I’m looking forward to her heavier sisters when I have to do a little work.

A much loved cigar that should still be produced. In fact it's the last LCDH release to be cut. I'm sure it would sell well today.
