New legislation coming in too, essentially all UK stock has to be electronically tagged and tracked in real time, stores have 2 years to liquidate all current stock 😬

So if you buy a single cigar it must be scanned I guess.

Ah, ok so end user retailers don't have to. The supplier has to scan when delivered to the retailer, then it ends https://www.acs.org.uk/advice/track-and-trace
