I've also been watching the 'Guy Ritchie' Series 'The Gentlemen' which is a spin off from the movie. I'm warming to the lead character. Not sure he has the extra 'it' factor but he is very Bond like. Great voice too which is important to carry the role IMHO.

I don't think he has the charisma to pull it off but that's just my opinion.

cillian murphy i know and peaky blinders. terrific show. and of course Oppenheimer. but our friend above who said forget anyone over 40 is spot on. i think murphy is pushing 50. i am as much chance as him. he'd make a great bond villain though.

Never thought about that but he would make a terrific Bond villain without a doubt!

skyfall was a cracker and that could have been a good end. it and casino royale were, for me, by far the best in the craig collection. spectre was pretty good but took them off in a way that they needed a finish and i think they completely cocked it up. giving bond the kid, knocking him off, muddling the use of '007'. and for me, madeline swann was one of the least of all bond women. for me, it was so utterly implausible that she would be the one he'd choose. especially as in spectre, they spent something like 36 hours detesting each other, she especially detesting him, and then without any genuine reason why, it is happily ever after. what a crock.

i think you are right, had craig walked after skyfall, he might have an even higher reputation for it. though i i guess not many of us would leave tens of millions on the table.

Not a single thing to add, there's everything in this post. If I'm not mistaken, Craig wanted Skyfall to be his last one but it must have been too hard to say no.
