For Australians, the fact that Manly Beach is voted so highly, yet Bondi Beach doesn't rate at all is an interesting point. Fair enough, because personally, it doesn't bother me at all as Australia is frankly surrounded by beach, and most importantly, they all have genuine yellow sand. Aussie beach makes Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Beaches list Bondi is no longer recognised as having bragging rights to Australia’s most popular beach, with a new hotspot taking the title. by Shireen Khalil Bondi Beach is no longer recognised as the most popular Aussie beach in the world. Well, not according to Tripadvisor’s most recent awards it isn’t. Manly Beach bumped the popular eastern suburbs hotspot after it was ranked in the top 25 for the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Beaches title. Beaches from around the world were ranked based on the high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions they received from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of the 8 million listings, fewer than 1 per cent achieve this milestone — and Manly Beach made the cut, coming in hot in seventh place. It is famous for its dramatic cliffs, golden sands, and sparkling blue waters. It received a 4½ star rating out of 5 from 5,901 reviews that also rave about the coffee shops, wellness options and sports activities. “The beach has been awarded Blue Flag recognition for its cleanliness, plus there are rest rooms, a snack bar, and it’s easy to get to via public transportation,” it states on TripAdvisor. Picture: Getty Images In second place is Spiaggia dei Conigli in Italy with the online travel company noting its “unbelievably blue waters and white sand”. “It’s a peaceful beach, perfect for relaxing, soaking up the sun, and swimming. There’s lots of marine life to check out, and you might even spot some wildlife on the shore. Parking’s free, and it’s easy to get to via public transportation,” it states. Located in San Sebastian, an iconic spot right in the city, the beach has a huge sandy shore and clear, blue waters. “The atmosphere is lively, and it’s a great place for families. Meanwhile, Ka’anapali Beach in Hawaii secured fourth spot, while Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos came in fifth and Anse Lazio, Seychelles in sixth. Manly Beach raked in 7,750 reviews with a 4.5-star rating. Picture: iStock Australia’s very own Manly Beach ranked seventh with a 4.5 star rating and 7,750 reviews. “Manly Beach is at the centre of everything — literally. Just a quick ride from the Sydney CBD, it’s surrounded by shops, cafes, and more,” TripAdvisor explains. “Go swimming or surfing in the warm waters (there’s a netted area for swimming plus lifeguards on duty), or take a dip in the saltwater pool. Then, go for a stroll along the long beach walkway and take in the panoramic views.” Rounding off the top ten were Eagle Beach in Aruba in eight spot, followed by Siesta Beach in Florida and Varadero Beach in Cuba. HDGSN Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay on TCI are even better than Grace Bay. Bahia de las Aguilas in DR is still my favorite. 1
