Popular Post MagicalBikeRide Posted January 19 Popular Post Posted January 19 Deciding on a favourite vitola is challenging, but a robusto is certainly up there for me. Versatile in most situations and so many options to choose from. Been loving D4’s lately. Rarely disappoint. This one was no different. Some notes and pics below. Overall - amazing aroma - fantastic construction - endless smoke output - very smooth (dislike that description, but no harshness if that makes sense?) -1- Super sweet opening, touch of cream, light caramel (uncharacteristic?), nuttiness (I was eating peanuts, so this is questionable!), a retrohale made in heaven, light to medium at most Razor sharp burn, perfect Cuban draw -2- Some floral thing going on (can’t describe better than this), more of the cream, less of the caramel, some coffee and leather, retro still great -3- Most of the sweetness disappearing, tons of floral, coffee, leather, nuts and perhaps some cedar / pine nuts kind of thing, retro has kicked it up a notch, finishing closer to full than medium Still super burn and no construction issues A belter overall. The type that sets the benchmark. 11
Rushman Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Really good cigar, nice review and great pints! My favorite vitola is robusto as well - maybe not as sexy as others might choose, but versatile as you stated and a wide range. Well done sir! 1
