Woke up this morning at 0430 - who the heck knows why!  Wife was still sound asleep so trying to be quiet in the house.  Started my morning routine with a Costa Rican La Candelilla Washed Whole Bean coffee (I'm a pour-over guy) and opened FOH to see what's new.  Did my mandatory review of "FOH'ers Daily Smoke" and "Your latest CC Purchase" and then reread some of @JohnS's 2022 Smoking Diary - there were a few reviews that I had missed.  As always great stuff John!

I am always a big fan of written cigar reviews.  I've never really gotten into the video reviews on YouTube that seem very popular today.  Besides FOH, two of my other favorites are "Cigar Reviews by The Katman" and "Developing Palates" which I believe boasts our own @Cigar Surgeon as a writer.  Obviously, at FOH you get really to-the-point reviews from our members many of which are smoking the same cigars that that we are smoking.  It's nice to get differing opinions from a knowledgable membership.  The Katman has got to be one of the most eclectic reviewers on the Net.  His stories that usually have nothing to do with the cigar being smoked are some of the best stuff in the reviews.  I like Developing Palates because of the team reviews.  If you ever want proof that 4 people can smoke the same cigar and get completely different flavors and impressions, just read those reviews - also great stuff!

Anyway, it got me thinking -- do you like Video or Written reviews best?

I read Halfwheel a lot.  Cigar Coop.  I watch Cigar Hound Dog on YouTube along with Pick Jimi and Cigar Hustler.

I only view the written reviews, don't like the videos. 

I enjoy Katman's reviews as well as Blind Man's Puff, that's a team review site.

I'll have to check out Developing Palates.

Thank you for the mention, @GVan. Honestly, I find it hard to compare my blog series with other, more higher-profile online versions. You see, I started it all by accident really and it evolved from there. My Daily Smoking posts proved interesting for a few members and I was requested to post them up together in one place, in another section and voila...a few years later we have something quite grand and substantial, I suppose. I think that was in 2017. My how time flies!

Nowadays, I aim to provide a parameter or a reference point by which our members can compare what I smoke with a cigar that they may have in their humidor that is somewhat similar. It's a service aimed at empowering our members to make more informed choices with their time and money in regards to our shared hobby. If anyone finds that valuable then I am pleased.
