She needs someone like me to take care of and let me smoke all those vintage cigars. I don't have anything much to offer her in return but maybe she will laugh at my jokes.

Ill have to watch. I have a hard time staying engaged when Kirby speaks--it feels too often that he is trying to insert himself to rather than let conversations breathe and move organically. I also like this one a lot:

Not a fan of Kirby... That being said, fortunately he doesn't interject too much....

I met Jemma at the Habanos festival gala dinner this year and found her to be very friendly and engaging.

Kirby was quite the opposite, unfortunately.

I mean. Who is he really? To me he's just some suck up .

He’s a popular YouTuber focused on men’s premium living - bespoke clothing, tailored shoes, and now Cuban cigars. Through his focus on London men’s fashion, he’s gotten close with the Sahakians at Davidoff of London and has moved into the cigar space.

I for one appreciate anyone who’s making content educating and celebrating this thing of ours though, I wish he’d dial back the bravado. There are very few real ‘experts’ in the space - our host and several moderators here to name a few - and I don’t think pretending to be one helps the community.

Out of curiosity, in what way?

That's my only complaint about the guy is that he comes off a little tool-ish. I might be a bit critical I admit.

Watched a couple of his videos out of interest. I didn’t get the feeling he’s pretending to be an expert. I almost got the opposite - that for him, if cigars didn’t come with all that he associates with them (smoking jackets, collectability, fancy lighters, expensive cutters, exclusivity, after dinner smoking rooms, tradition, all the other nonsense he spouts, etc) then he wouldn’t be interested. Which is an oversight imo - as most people that like cigars don’t want all the shite on the side.

I mostly use a BIC and my fingernails, so safe to say it’s not for me.

He is now running cigar keep. Whatever that's trying to be. I went to a C-K do at the Bulgari recently. Everyone in the full suit regalia. Except me and Ehab. At least he didn't skip over me when he came round to do intros. 🤣 But didn't come hang out either when doing rounds after. Complimentary cigar (2019 Fuerza courtesy of the lounge) as well as drink tasting that evening. They took some photos & video, not seen them anywhere yet. Not seen the interview yet though, will watch, thanks.

The Sahakians seem like good people. I bet Edward he has the best stories.

I'm not the sort to go barging in. Didn't get any opportunity to say anything other than "hi". They are busy men in these sorts of environments.

Never heard of it until now and, after checking it out…WTH is this? A cigar lounge for douche bags?
Our Proprietor is a man of much renown and some notoriety. He remains in the shadows of his own cigar fug, often in smoking lounges as far flung as London, New York, Beirut, Paris and Dubai. If you are lucky, he might be seen at Cigar Keep’s Zoom Meet every Sunday at 16.30 BST

It strikes me as aspirational and asinine pomposity, so I’m not surprised Kirby is involved.

PS: What is a “cigar fug?”

There's me thinking cigar fugs are inclusive and we love each other just because 😊 I think I'd enjoy taking you round London's cigar lounges. I think it may just be fuggin entertaining.
