Hello,

I smoked a partagas P2 and I was shocked by how beautiful it was. Unfortunately its very hard to find here atm but there is a box of Partagas Presidentes available in the store. Are they similar in taste? How do they compare?

Thanks

P2 is superior in my eyes. The only time I stray from Serie line is the Lusi and 898, both of which I think are the top 2 in the marca when they are aged appropriately.

That said, the p2 I have had recently are phenomenal. It's a cigar that will always be in my rotation

Thank you everyone 😍

I tried an E2 and I'm blown away. Need many more E2 and P2 for sure. Unfortunately, didn't get a chance to try the Presidentes. Someone took them all a few minutes before I got back to the store. :D

I would say more differences than similarities. The P2 has a lot more going on. Leather, baking spices, sourdough, paprika, clove. The Presidentes is more classic Partagas--less complex earthy and toasted tobacco.

I find that there is a distinct difference between the Serie line and the "classic" Partagas line which has been reduced to the Presidentes, 898, Lusitanias, Salomones and the Shorts. The two lines share more similarities within them than between them. But I would say the P2 is probably the closest of the Serie cigars to the "classic" cigars in terms of fullness and depth.

Of the Serie line I think the E2 is usually the best overall but I think the D6 blend is excellent. Of the classic line I think the Salomones are by far the best. The Lusi and 898 have often disappointed me. Salomones, never.

Thank you for your amazing advice. Smoking my first presidente now and honestly it has nothing to do with a P2. To be honest I'm finding this one quite boring.... it's from 2021 so maybe needs some time, just so bland.
