They're not getting paid. Some of them managed to get hold of a phone and streamed to a broadcast that they were duped and trafficked over there. Not getting money or anything. They don't speak Russian so they're kinda just fodder on the front line.

Cuba is actively trying to arrest the traffickers, they are the only ones getting money.
