cigaraholic Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 I always joke the cigar gods have been very good to me, but this box takes the cake. It must have been the pictures of dark oily wrappers on 24:24 that finally got me to pony up the cash to buy a box of these. The good ole expensive box excuse. Of course this was a few years ago when there were reasonably priced cigars. I did manage to get a box from another vendor, these weren’t easy to track down. When I opened the box my heart sank. Very pale flat toffee wrappers, just disgusting. I shut the box and went straight to acceptance, hadn’t seen anything that bad since a yellow wrapper box of Bolivar PC 20 years ago. Maybe twice a year I’d look at them, just to feel sick for a second. And then it happened, I opened the box and there they were, dark oily wrappers. Exactly what I wanted to see 2 years ago. Never underestimate the power of swearing at a box of cigars. Obviously this cigar has a dark oily wrapper, is nicely filled at 14g and has just the right amount of resistance in the draw. Cold draw is chocolate pastry and coffee. First puffs are chocolate croissant, nuts and bittersweet chocolate on the finish. This is going to be a 10,000 calorie cigar. An inch in pastry flavor fades, it’s all lip smacking chocolate and nuts. 2/3 pastry comes back with vanilla, body is creeping up.3/3 a little caramel with dark chocolate croissant is quite a finish. An absolutely fantastic dessert cigar! 3
