Popular Post BeerPimp Posted June 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 18, 2023 Purchased a new Bourbon yesterday during an allocated raffle so it was fitting that I should pair it with my cigar for the weekend review. I purchased a half cab of these in 2019 don't have a box code but they are from 2017. These have been up and down for me. For a long time I would get tons of burnt sugar. But that last couple years they have seemed strong with little burnt sugar. This is the last one from the half cab. I purchased a new cab that is from 2020. Cold draw is very light tobacco with a very light sweetness. First Third and I am getting light cocoa and burnt sugar. Draw is perfect just enough resistance to get good smoke production. It looked like it was going to canoe but it stopped and for the rest of the cigar the burn was very good. Second Third and I am getting the same notes of light cocoa and burnt sugar. Final third and I am getting light pepper, cocoa, and burnt sugar. I end up smoking it to the nub. This was better than some of the other ones I have smoked lately. I dry boxed it for 2 days. I had not been dry boxing cigars lately and I think that has been affecting the flavor of them. I would say this was a 92. Not as good as some previous one but much better than the last 3 or 4 I have smoked. I have never really got caramel from any of my PLPC. I was fine with the burnt sugar in them. 9

The EHT Single Barrel was very good. I have heard some people say they would rather pick the EHT Small Batch vs the Single Barrel because the small batch is consistent. I had my pick of either because I was picked 5th in the bourbon raffle I was at. I decided to roll the dice on the Single Barrel. 1
GVan Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 The unique aspects of single barrels is what we are all in search of - and frankly, is always a crap-shoot. I have a few single barrels that my first taste usually is - "wow - that's unique, not sure if I like it or really just noticing the differences". I have one Knob Creek cask-strength single barrel that really stands out as an excellent example. I always direct Knob Creel fans to try it and taste the flavors. On EHT - it's so hard to find and really, at the top of my price point but, I have 3 Small Batch's. If I like it - I always buy a back-up - so, that justify's the second bottle! I only bought the third because I walked into a small B&M and saw 6 of them on the shelf for $89 (Still havn't seen one at MSRP but that was pretty close so, I couldn't resist.)
