djrey Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Hello everyone. Currently honeymooning in Costa Rica and have been enjoying some Havana Club and those Cohiba Cigarettes. Would love to bring some back to the US but from I am reading citizens can no longer bring a certain value back that was once allowed recently. I have a checked bag. Does anyone just do it and hope for the best? What are the consequences? This is all hypothetical of course. Any help is appreciated.
NSXCIGAR Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Since Nov 2020 no Cuban goods of any value are allowed. There are some exceptions for art and crafts I believe. That said if you get inspected worst case they'll just take it. No big deal. If you remove the bands from any cigars you bring back you'll be fine since you're returning from Costa Rica and not directly from Cuba. 4
