Corylax18 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 The fact that the 3rd party "owner" of this long defaulted debt is only asking for about 1% in recovery speaks volumes to the strength of their case. They probably bought this debt from the original holder for almost nothing, probably in the 100s of thousands of Euros and they're just trying to make a buck. Not exactly the most solid legal footing. All the changes regarding enforcement of Helms Burton could, theoretically, provide some sort of precedent. But I dont know of any examples of UK based Judges using US court decisions for precedent. I'll say this, if the defense fails here, old Cuban debt is going to spike in Value and the Cubans could have a school of sharks circling them in no time. 2
jakebarnes Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Have they tried settling it by providing the plaintiffs with 6 boxes of Behike? 1 1
