Popular Post cigaraholic Posted November 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 25, 2022 I have decades of after Thanksgiving dinner cigar smoking memories with my father. He was a pipe smoker, but a few nights a year he would have a cigar with me, Thanksgiving was one of them. He really loved cigars, his face always lit up when he was smoking one, a nice glass of vintage Port was our drink of choice. I’d almost always bring RyJ Churchill’s, don’t have any Churchill’s right now so a Capuletos will have to do. This box has been plagued with a much higher percentage of underfilled cigars than usual, this one at least has crawled up to the published weight of 15 g. Nice colorado maduro wrapper with a reddish hue. Good amount of resistance in the draw, with a sweet dark fruit flavor, blindfolded I’d guess this was a Ramon Allones. Opens at medium body with blackberry, briar and brown sugar. It’s a delicious cigar except like many 16’s the finish is quite dry, luckily the 03 Croft should take care of that....and it does. It settles into rich blackberry blueberry fruit and sweet briar. This cigar didn’t transition much, body made it up to medium full, fruit came down a little and sweet briar came up a little. I would have put a Ramon Allones band on this cigar 👻 The Port was a game changer, smoking this cigar without something sweet takes it from a 92 to an 85. The burn was razor sharp, a lovely hour and a half down memory lane. 11
