The dream becoming reality: home cigar lounge

The contractor installed a Mylar plastic sheet below the LVT flooring to seal the floor. Works fine so far. Fireplace is a must-have in winter. Furniture by ikea has been added.

The wine nook that leads to the smoke lounge (which doubles as my home office) came out well with vigilant wine racking in black. My wife wanted to do a James Bond theme, so we hung a picture from Thunderball where Largo is smoking a cigarillo in the casino with Sean. I finally got the TV installed and bought an inexpensive ottoman and desk for my work station. Sorry for the mess on the floor, I still need some storage down there. 
 

The ventilator works great, no smoke odors in the rest of the house. The builders made the door to the smoke room seal very well by installing a raised threshold in the floor, which you can sort of see in the doorway picture. This was a pretty big job. The ductwork and insulation are better left to professionals, in my opinion.  I still have some decorating to do, and the plan is to get a vigilant cigar vault in here next year. But for the moment, this works very well for me.  The room does stink when I finish my cigar, but I light a candle and the room smells better the next day.

Great job! Toying with the idea of doing something like this in my garage when I ultimately remodel that. It's either that or a golf simulator. Maybe I can do both?
